Do you ever have a tough time getting 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day in? Here’s a healthy way to knock off at least 3 a day. Smoothies are simple for a quick breakfast or after working out, or a refreshing snack anytime. I like my smoothie’s on the tart side while the rest of my family likes the sweet kind. I use plain sugar free, fat free yogurt in mine to add protein, a smooth texture and tartness. When I make them for the family I use sweetened flavored yogurt or extra bananas for sweetness.
Very Berry Smoothie
1 cup orange juice
1 cup mixed frozen berries
1 frozen banana in chunks
3 T. yogurt (any type you like)
Directions:
Put all ingredients in blender and blend until mixed well (may need to help the blender out with a spoon but try not to do while it’s running to save your silverware). This is a very thick smoothie if you want it thinner don’t freeze your banana.
Makes 1 16 oz. smoothie
