I used to get the magazine Cooking Light, about ten years ago I found this delicious recipe for turkey meatballs with marinara sauce in the magazine. I have made it for others and they didn’t even know it was ground turkey and not ground hamburger. If you are looking for a healthier way to eat your meatballs then you need to try this one out.
Healthy Turkey Meatballs with Spaghetti
1 pound ground turkey
1/3 cup of Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1/4 cup of grated fresh Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup of chopped fresh flat leaf parsley
1/2 tsp dried basil
2 large egg whites
T. canola oil or olive oil
Directions:
Step 1: Mix all ingredients together and shape into balls about 1 1/2 in.
Step 2: Heat oil on med-high in skillet and cooked meatballs until all sides are browned.
Step 3: Drain fat and oil off.
Step 4: Now add you favorite pasta sauce and cook on low for about 15 min.
Step 5: Cook spaghetti until tender and drain.
Serves: 4
